Bon Voyage

Staff -- Interior Design, 8/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

Since 1981, the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Foundation has awarded traveling fellowships to young architects, urban planners, and engineers, to assist them in expanding their professional education through design and the observation of foreign cultures. These recipients in-dependently select travel itineraries that, they feel, best complement their studies and professional interests. This year, the SOM Foundation has awarded the following: Bachelor of Architecture Traveling Fellowships to Anca Vasiliu of Cooper Union and Alejandro Ogata of the University of Kansas; the Master of Architecture First Professional Degree Traveling Fellowship to Robert Zirkle of Yale University; and the Master of Architecture Second Professional Degree Traveling Fellowship to Esra Sahin of Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
