A slew of savvy manufacturers have forged design alliances this year to broaden the reach of their brands, but the Robert Allen Group is doing double duty through simultaneous collaborations with window treatment manufacturer The Shade Store and paint retailer Sherwin-Williams.
The designer and marketer of decorative fabrics and furnishings, which also sells under the Beacon Hill brand, is rolling out a slew of Shade Store boutiques within its to-the-trade showrooms. Outposts have popped up in Robert Allen spaces at the Design & Decoration Building in New York City, Woodbury, New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia. Branches in Troy, Michigan and eight other cities are expected to follow shortly.

But proving that turnabout is fair play, The Shade Store is now offering more than 100 Robert Allen patterns, which can be used to create six styles of roman shades and eight type of draperies, along with cornices and pillows. Prominent among the selections are signature designs by the irrepressible Larry Laslo, from the updated damask of Dahlia Garden to the chain link pattern of semi-sheer Tazetta.

Additionally, the Shade Store is launching a new COM program that allows designers with Robert Allen trade accounts to utilize the company's fabrics for custom window treatment, delivered within 15 days with a lifetime guarantee. All products are available through The Shade Store's flagship showrooms in New York and San Francisco, as well as the manufacturer's online storefront.
Sherwin-Williams, for their part, recently debuted a 600-square-foot color studio in the Robert Allen/Beacon Hill showroom at the D&D Building in New York. The palette pro is also expected to have a presence in more than a dozen Robert Allen showrooms throughout the U.S. The Robert Allen Color Library upholstery and multipurpose fabric collection books now include palettes of complementary Sherwin-Williams colors, aiming to make it easier for designers to coordinate fabrics and paints.

"As leading color trend authorities for the paint and fabrics industries, this collaboration is a natural fit for both companies," says Sherwin-Williams director of color marketing Jackie Jordan. "We've long been familiar and have worked with the Robert Allen Group, and look forward to broadening our relationship with this new program."
We would love your feedback!
