A new annual awards program will honor design from registered architects and firms located within the Philadelphia region. Organized by DesignPhiladelphia, the AIA Philadelphia Center for Architecture, and the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Philadelphia Emerging Architecture Prize is open to projects of all types, executed in any medium. Entries for the 2008 program are due tomorrow, September 30, by 5 p.m. Winners will be notified October 3, and awarded at an evening event held October 22 at the Philadelphia Art Alliance.

Architects must have completed their last professional degree within the last 12 years; students are not eligible. Firms must have at least one principal who has completed his or her last professional degree within the last 12 years.

Winning architects and firms will earn the opportunity to present a lecture at the Philadelphia Art Alliance and see their work featured in an exhibit on view at the AIA Philadelphia Center for Architecture, November 16-December 12.

Entry forms (with a $30 entry fee for each entrant) are available at DesignPhiladelphia (PDF).
