Interface Canada Earns Environmental Excellence Award

The firm was recognized for its world-class leadership in the areas of sustainable commerce.

Interface Flooring Systems (Canada), a subsidiary of carpet manufacturer Interface, is the recipient of the prestigious Globe Award for Environmental Excellence, one of the most recognized and respected national awards of its kind. The award honors businesses who balance competitive business strategies and sustainable development.

The judging panel singled out Interface Canada for its world-class leadership in the areas of sustainable commerce and industrial ecology and sited cited the firm’s dedication to “reducing the company's environmental footprint of products and production through a host of intelligent design and manufacturing changes that have generated environmental benefits,” according to press material. Interface promotes sustainable manufacturing and development processes worldwide.

"The award is a testament to the commitment of our employees here in Belleville and across Canada, who everyday live and promote our sustainability vision that ensures our business decisions are weighed against
their potential impact on all economic, natural and social systems,” says Claude Ouimet, senior vice president and general manager of Interface Flooring Systems Canada. 

The 5th annual 2006 Globe Awards were announced March 31 in Vancouver, B.C. at Globe 2006.
