Have It Your Way

Foscarini Giulio Iacchetti Tropico

Foscarini Giulio Iacchetti TropicoIt’s the stuff of daytime talk shows: He liked me, but he wanted to change me. No such angst from Giulio Iacchetti, who’s well aware that modification is a specifier’s prerogative. In fact, his Tropico fixtures for Foscarini welcome extreme customization, in practically any shape with diameters up to 6½ feet. Facilitating this flexibility fixation are 3½-inch lengths of faceted thermoplastic resin that snap onto steel rings of varying sizes. The clear or opaque pieces surround an acrylic diffuser, which can be fitted with an optional color filter. If so many options overwhelm, consider the four standard models: Ellipse and Bell, 29½ inches across; Sphera, 23¾ inches; and Vertical, about 12 inches. All accept a compact fluorescent bulb. 39-041-5953811; foscarini.com. circle 420
