Interior Design is hitting the airwaves. Ovation, the television network dedicated to art and contemporary culture, recently invited editor in chief Cindy Allen to host an all-new programming event, “Design to Die For,” kicking off April 25. The week’s lineup explores the objects that surround us from the perfect drape of a bias cut dress to a stunning interior or a geometrically perfect chair—the staples of design.
The special programming includes the world premieres of two Ovation original series “Design Giants” and “Designer People,” as well as the U.S. cable premiere of “Behind the Label.”
In “Design Giants,” Allen takes viewers beyond the pages of Interior Design magazine to get an intimate look at the movers and shakers creating the best projects and products in the universe. The episodes feature furniture design mastermind Vladimir Kagan, eccentric Chicago architect Nick Luzietti, East-meets-West New York architect Tony Chi, and California-based prefab partners in crime Marmol Radziner. “Design Giants” premieres Monday, April 26 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern and 6:00 p.m. Pacific.
In addition, Allen also hosts “Designer People” and “Behind the Label.”
“Designer People” features in-depth look at some of the world’s most pioneering, cutting-edge designers, including renowned interior designers Patrick Giles and Dorothee Boissier, architect Bjarke Ingels, versatile designers Karim Rashid and Emmanuel Picault, and graphic design firm M/M. The show premieres Sunday, April 25 to Friday, April 30, airing at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and 5:00 p.m. Pacific.
“Behind the Label” features a behind-the-scenes look at some of today’s most well respected fashion designers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Tommy Hilfiger, Stuart Weitzman, Cynthia Rowley, Anna Sui, Monique Lhullier, Heatherette and John Varvatos. The show premieres Monday, April 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific.
