Trendway Reports Record Sales

Nearly $1 million will be invested in new equipment.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 8/23/2007 12:00:00 AM

Furniture manufacturer Trendway Corporation is showing record sales for 2007. According to company president Bill Bundy, net sales are up 21 percent as of July 31 and orders are up 19 percent.

The company says much of the credit goes to its On Time or Free shipping promise--this year, just four orders have not met the standard, and most ship within two weeks--and its recent change in ownership status. "We have been an employee owned company since last year," says board chairman Don Heeringa. "In my opinion this has strengthened our team environment and increased performance excellence. Sales are also propelled by the successful launch of two new product lines, Intrinsic Freestanding and Contrada Smart Tile.

To meet new demands, the company will invest nearly $1 million in new equipment, thanks to an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate. The local tax exemption was granted by a unanimous vote of the Board of the Holland Charter Township and Trendway plans to hire 30 new employees, as part of the deal. So far, 28 are on board.

Founded in 1968, Trendway is headquartered in Holland, Michigan.
