New NY Showroom for Kimball Office

Construction, to begin this month, is expected to be completed this summer.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 3/14/2006 12:00:00 AM

Kimball Office will soon open doors to a new showroom in New York. The office furniture manufacturer has reserved space at 215 Park Avenue South, in Manhattan’s Union Square neighborhood. Interior design firm TVS Interiors will spearhead the showroom’s design.

The 12,000-square-foot space will be transformed “into a dynamic environment that encapsulates the spirit of Kimball Office—its roots, culture and image, and the authentic nature of its people and products,” according to press material. Highlights include high ceilings, oversized windows, and abundant natural light.

TVS Interiors will develop the project under the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) program.

Construction is slated to be completed by mid-summer. A temporary space on the third floor of the Architects and Designers building at 150 East 58th Street is currently serving clientele.

“This location is exactly the right move for Kimball Office in New York,” explains Randy Iles, vice president sales and marketing, Kimball Office. “It’s a great space in an exciting area with excellent proximity to the A & D community.

The manufacturer, a business unit of Kimball International, also has showrooms in Chicago and Jasper, Indiana.
