Taking a break from the silver screen and his rebel-with-a-cause television series on HGTV, Ed Begley, Jr. is scheduled for fieldwork next week in New York. Begley will share center stage with celebrated artist James Turrell as headlining keynote speakers for Lightfair International, the tradeshow and conference for lighting and design professionals.

This May, Lightfair celebrates 20 years of inspiration and innovation as it opens the doors to thousands of lighting industry professionals for five full days at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. The Lightfair Conference program will bring together designers, educators, architects, engineers, and consultants to address topics that cover lighting fundamentals, software, applications, controls, and solutions, as well as design innovation, product updates, and case studies.

Well-known in the community as an environmental activist, Begley will address sustainable living during his seminar "Live Simply So That Others Can Simply Live," offering an informative and humorous message with personal anecdotes from his 37-year green crusade. Additionally, he will speak about global climate change, pollution, and eco-conscious living.

James Turrell, who is often referred to as a “sculptor of light,” will present "Plato’s Cave and the Light Inside," an overview of his work in lighting artistry and sources of inspiration, supported by four decades of playing with perception and the effects of light within a created space.

The Lightfair events run May 3 through 7. For tickets and a complete schedule of events, classes, and programs, visit lightfair.com.
