Kudos for Koolhaas

The Pritzker Architecture Prize. Japan's Praemium Imperiale. It's time to add another distinction to the list of awards won by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. The Office for Metropolitan Architecture partner has just won the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Inaugurated in 1848 by Queen Victoria and now personally approved by Queen Elizabeth, the annual award recognizes the lifetime work of those who have exerted an international effect on architecture. Koolhaas fulfills those qualifications in spades—just note the new campus center at Chicago's Illinois Institute of Technology and Beijing's China Central Television headquarters, among his recent and current projects.
Koolhaas is slated to receive his medal in London on February 18.
We would love your feedback!
