Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what, where in the design community.

Nicholas Tamarin -- Interior Design, 7/25/2008 12:00:00 AM

Tracy Cook is the new director of brand strategy for carpet manufacturer the Mohawk Group. Cook will lead the communication strategies for brands Karastan Contract, Lees Carpets, Bigelow Commercial, and Durkan.

Andrew Foster, chief operating officer for Christie's Americas and international director of operations for Christie's International, now also assumes the newly-created position of president, Asia at the auction house.

Mona Hoffman is the new vice president of marketing for office furniture manufacturer Kimball International's Kimball Office brand.

International design and consulting firm Nelson has named Martin Festenstein project director of its Chicago office.

The Forest Stewardship Council elected two new members to its board of directors: Fran Raymond Price, director of certification programs for the Forest Trade Program of The Nature Conservancy, and Bill Wilkinson, president of BBW Associates, a forestry consulting firm.

Office furniture manufacturer Steelcase entered into a strategic business alliance with Lab Crafters, a laboratory products manufacturer. The two companies will distribute a full range of laboratory products throughout North America.

Lighting manufacturer Con-Tech Lighting launched a new hospitality division focusing on North American hotels, restaurants, and casino chains.

Textiles manufacturer Chella Textiles is now represented by distributor Henry Calvin Fabrics in the Boston Design Center.
