The Stuff of Legends

Our banner December issue proved to be positively uncontainable, gushing as it did into real life at our packed-to-the-rafters Hall of Fame gala at the Waldorf, followed by a rousing celebration of the best 2006 projects and products at the Guggenheim. After performances like that, you'd think we'd take a quick time-out from the hustle and bustle of finding, following, and snatching up outstanding projects. However rewarding a pursuit that might be, sometimes it's hard slaving under the severe tutelage of originality, timelessness, and excellence.
OK, spare your harrumph. A dedication to producing impeccable work is indeed a pretty common stock in the publishing trade. But impeccable becomes remarkable when it stretches beyond the short life expectancy of today's journalism. Remarkable becomes exceptional when it spans decades. And in crossing the 75-year threshold, as this magazine will in March, exceptional work becomes legendary. No, we are not resting on our cushy laurels in January—or any other issue in 2007. All year long, Interior Design is celebrating its diamond anniversary, 75 years as the premier voice of the design industry.
We would love your feedback!
