Firms competing onstage? A live audience? At the live Superior Interior Tournament digital design contest, debuting at West Coast commercial interiors fair NeoCon Xpress in Los Angeles this August, both talent and tension are sure to soar. The contest, sponsored in part by Interior Design, will make its debut the opening night of the two-day fair, August 22, from 5:30pm-8pm.
The first live digital presentation of its kind, the innovate event will face off four of the nation's top design firms--Gensler, IA, Langdon Wilson, and HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates--onstage at the Main Exhibition Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Architects and designers will have three 20 minute-rounds to design a specific task using digital and non-digital tools--complete with floor plans, 2D elevations, and 3D models.
A panel of industry professionals will judge the work, which will be projected in real time to the audience. The winner, "the first battle-tested guru of live design" will be crowned with the "Superior Interior" title and will earn a "substantial" prize package, according to event organizers.
The contest is produced by creative consulting agency Catharsis, which is comprised of the founders of the Cut & Paste Digital Design Competition for graphic designers.
NeoCon Xpress runs August 22-23 from the Los Angeles Convention Center.
We would love your feedback!
