Never in its 46-year history had Italian Murano glass manufacturer Leucos commissioned Americans to design products for its brand. Not until last year, that is, when the company partnered with New York's Rockwell Group to design the Rockwell Collection. The result: light motifs that are much in keeping with Leucos's decidedly modern aesthetic while honoring the ancient tradition of glass making.

The collaboration's success was no fluke. Building on the Stacking and Ombre lights, three new designs—Jellyfish, Rondelle, and Silhouette—cast an innovative glow on residential and commercial spaces. Jellyfish is available in two sizes: 15¾ inches in diameter by 6¼ inches high, and 19¾ inches in diameter by 7¾ inches high, and is created from a single piece of milky white, hand-blown glass. It takes incandescent and fluorescent lamping. The circular rim is in clear or amber glass. The pendant lamp Rondelle employs 15 floating, differently sized polycarbonate disks that are separated by crystal spacer rings. Rondelle is available in four shades: deep amber, bright orange, smoked gray, and violet, and measures 27½ inches in diameter by a drop length of up to 118 inches. It takes fluorescent bulbs. The Silhouette pendant merges four waved ribbons suspended within a crystal cylinder. It has a 12½-inch diameter and can hang up to 118 inches long. Available colors are green, orange, and white, and the fixture accepts fluorescent and incandescent bulbs. 732-225-0010; leucos.com. circle 669
