Passion for Fashion

Thaddeus Kromelis -- Interior Design, 4/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is celebrating 100 years of fashion with A Century of Fashion, 1900–2000. The exhibition, which features more than 130 costumes from LACMA's permanent collection, is being presented in four installations over a two-year period. More than just a chronological survey, this exhibit unravels how dress echoes societal changes, particularly how fashion reflects and shapes each decade's feminine ideal. Each of the four rotations will cover the entire century with pieces ranging from the early works of Coco Chanel to contemporary pieces by Ralph Lauren and Issey Miyake. Through January 2003. Call (323) 857-6000 or visit lacma.org.
