Next fall, contemporary art will overflow from the Berlin Fairgounds once again. The 11th annual Art Forum Berlin will take place September 29–October 4. The contemporary art event will feature curated exhibitions, solo shows, and special programs. New talents will be on display side-by-side international stars.
Highlights include the AFB Talks, addressing significant issues of the international art scene; the curated special exhibition: "City Lights," featuring up to 40 artists and 110 international galleries; and the exhibition "Into Me Out of Me" curated by Klaus Biesenbach of New York's Museum of Modern Art. Biesenbach will explore artistic works--starting from the late 1960's and 1970's--dealing with basic physiological processes of the human body.
Special programs will begin on September 28 with the opening of "Projections in Contemporary Art Works Since 1960," curated by Stan Douglas, Chris Eamon, Joachim Jaeger, and Gabriele Knapstein of Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof Museum of Contemporary Art. September 29 will mark the opening of an exhibition on Felix Gonzalez-Torres and the formulation of art in the 90’s curated by Frank Wagner of Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst, also at Hamburger Bahnhof.
Additional shows will emerge throughout the city. Artist Via Lewandowsky will be featured in a solo show at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein Cai and Guo-Qiang, a renowned Chinese artist famous for his gunpowder works, will show his latest settings at Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin.
Every year, Art Forum Berlin attracts an international roster of collectors, curators, and lovers of contemporary art.
