izzydesign: Designed by Matt Chrostowski of Designworks/USA, a division of BMW, the Maxwell chair features simple, fluid design with high-strength, lightweight mesh seat and back, soft urethane armrests, and silver-tone five-star base. izzydesign, 80 Ottawa NW, Suite 300, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. www.izzydesign.com.

SMED: The Spectrum light is now available for mounting on SMED's LEGS system for an even more dramatic look. Though it's a flashy statement, the fluorescent Spectrum, when combined with the Mimic task light, can be an energy saver. SMED International, 10 SMED Lane SE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2C4T5. www.smednet.com.

Herman Miller: The Coconut Chair is one of our favorite classics—and not only because it calls to mind Gilligan's Island (another favorite, if you must know.). It's whimsical shape is constructed of a molded plastic shell with foam cushions covered in leather and a four-legged chrome-and-steel base. We think even the Professor would approve. Herman Miller, 855 East Main Avenue, Zeeland, MI 49464. www.hermanmiller.com.

Global: @tributes, a new ergonomically-informed work/desking system from Global, consists of freestanding and linkable work surfaces supported by stylish, steel monolegs or steel pedestals, storage cabinets, and shelving modules. The system offers 64 work surfaces in 16 different shapes. Global, 17 West Stow Road, Marlton, NJ 08053. www.globaltotaloffice.com.

Amtico: The strikingly modern Techno tile series, which includes Debbie Swirl shown here, was clearly inspired by industrial finishes. Unlike traditional metal floors, however, the resilient vinyl—which utilizes a magnetic embossing technique to produce a simulated 3-D effect—is lighter, easier to clean, and quieter underfoot. A range of patterns is available in 12-in.-by-12-in. tiles. Amtico, 6480 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30328. www.amtico.com.

Pacificrest Mills: Inspired by the paintings of Gustav Klimt, Union is a particularly sophisticated small scale--design formed by double rows of uncut loops, which contrast with precision cut loops. The result is an elegant hourglass repeating pattern. 17111 Red Hill Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614. www.pacificrest.com.

Kravet: You don't need a degree in astrophysics to appreciate the shimmering colors of Meteorite and Asteroid, but the textiles do make use of a patented pigment developed by the aerospace industry. The textile's light interference technology splits color into different shades depending on the viewing angle. Its construction of polyurethane face combined with the strength of polyester-knit backing provides a slight stretch for better workability. Kravet, 225 Central Avenue South, Bethpage, NY 11714. www.kravet.com.

Humanscale: Smooth and Vellum are recent fabric introductions developed for the award-winning Freedom chair. Smooth, a collection of earth tones, is finely constructed from air textured nylon and elastic yarn, offering a sophisticated finish. The nylon-and-Cordura blend Vellum series has a subtle texture and is available in a range of colors, from neutrals to brilliant primaries. Humanscale, 11 E. 26th Street, New York, NY 10010. www.humanscale.com.
