PK Squared

edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 12/1/2004 12:00:00 AM

Two New York galleries are teaming up to present the first major U.S. survey of a Danish designer whose steel-framed chairs and stools brought a certain spare elegance to mass-produced modernism. Appearing simultaneously at Sean Kelly and R 20th Century, "The Furniture of Poul Kjaerholm and Selected Artwork" includes prototypes, drawings, and one-of-a-kind handcrafted scale models curated by Keenen/ Riley partner John Keenen—who has chosen Kjaerholm's PK54 table and PK80 sofa for multiple residential projects. In both show locations, look for Kjaerholm classics alongside paintings, sculpture, and photography by Yves Klein, John Baldessari, Rineke Dijkstra, et al. December 10–January 29.
