Kimball Office's manufacturing plants may be tucked away in America's heartland, but they are globally recognized now that the International Organization Standardization has registered them as environmentally sound.
The office furniture manufacturer has achieved registration for the ISO 14001:2004 standard based on the performance of the company's Environmental Management Systems in its facilities in Jasper, Borden, and Salem, Indiana and Post Falls, Idaho. Independent registrar QMI-SAI Global conducted the audits and recommended the registration.
The designation confirms that the plants are equipped with systems that enable them to fully comply with all federal, state and local environmental regulatory requirements. It also signifies that the manufacturer identifies and controls the environmental impact of its activities, products and services, and continually improves its environmental performance.
"We place a high priority on minimizing the ecological impact of our manufacturing operations," says Kimball Office's director of sustainable design Douglas Pickett. "This registration reflects the commitment, hard work, and diligence of our environmental management teams."
