Building on the success of previous shows, the sixth annual , May 9-11 in Brooklyn, New York will tap a new venue for 2008.

Produced by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, the juried design event showcases products made in Brooklyn at locations in DUMBO, and is held during New York Design Week. Retailer Target is the presenting sponsor for the 2008 show, which is also sponsored in part by Interior Design.

The new venue, the historic Tobacco Warehouse, in Brooklyn Bridge Park, will serve the second addition of BKLYN DESIGNS +, a curated cash-and-carry market for small design accessories made in Brooklyn. Events, exhibits, and panel discussions will once again be held at St. Ann’s Warehouse and the Smack Mellon Gallery. This year, bent wood designer Sami Hayek will deliver the keynote address.

The jury is composed of members of the Target design team; Karen Singh, market editor, Interior Design; Paul Makovsky, editorial director, Metropolis; Michael Cannell, New York editor, Dwell; Ruth Altcheck, senior editor, Domino; Chip Cordelli, set designer and prop stylist; and Chris Craig, designer and creative director of Suite New York.

"Our exhibitors are making headlines and sales all over the country and around the globe," says Carl Hum, president and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. "The overwhelming interest in the show among consumers, the design community and media is directly correlated with the success of our talented designers."
