Once again, the search for hospitality projects is on. The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) is seeking entries, due July 1, to the 28th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design.

International projects -- completed between January 1, 2007 and June 1, 2008 -- can be submitted into eight categories: Best Hotel Design, Guest Rooms, Lobby/Reception Area, Lounge/Bar, Restaurants/Casual Dining, Restaurants/Fine Dining, and Spa and Suites. Applications are available online.

On Monday, November 10, finalists and grand prize winners will be celebrated at the Gold Key Awards Breakfast ceremony. Held at New York City's Mandarin Oriental Hotel during the 93rd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, the breakfast will include the presentation of two prestigious awards. The  "Designer of the Year" Award is sponsored by Interior Design and HOTELS magazines and the Icon of the Industry distinction is presented by the Hospitality Industry Network. Tickets to the breakfast, $75.00 each, and will be available online beginning May 1.

"The Gold Key Awards continue to serve as the hospitality industry's top design honor, recognizing designers from around the world who are responsible for trend-setting new properties," says Christian Falkenberg, show manager. "This Award not only generates a great deal of buzz for the winning designers, but garners international attention for the winning properties."

Last year, the Gold Key Awards drew more than 150 submissions from 17 countries.
