Todd Oldham's turn as host on Bravo's Top Design obviously didn't put a crimp in his off-screen pursuits: He's completely renovating the Fairfax hotel in Miami Beach. Both the hotel and its Enoteca Spiaggia restaurant for Chicago chef Tony Mantuano will open early next year, but you can sneak a peek at the renderings on our Web site. |

With its shade of woven plastic yarn, Hyun Kyung Lee's lamp was among the final projects submitted to designer Suzanne Tick when she taught a graduate class called "The Duality of Materials and New Materials" at the Rhode Island School of Design. The course called on students to develop textile-based architectural materials or garments "from fiber to finish," Tick says.
