Todd Oldham's turn as host on Bravo's Top Design obviously didn't put a crimp in his off-screen pursuits: He's completely renovating the Fairfax hotel in Miami Beach. Both the hotel and its Enoteca Spiaggia restaurant for Chicago chef Tony Mantuano will open early next year, but you can sneak a peek at the renderings on our Web site.

With its shade of woven plastic yarn, Hyun Kyung Lee's lamp was among the final projects submitted to designer Suzanne Tick when she taught a graduate class called "The Duality of Materials and New Materials" at the Rhode Island School of Design. The course called on students to develop textile-based architectural materials or garments "from fiber to finish," Tick says.
