Dog Days

edited by Sheila Kim -- Interior Design, 4/1/2004 12:00:00 AM

"We like to take our dog traveling with us as often as possible," says Randy Rubin, who founded the Crypton fabric company with her husband, Craig. So do over 29 percent of dog owners—the impetus behind the Rubins's decision to market their durable, pet-friendly wares at the Hospitality Design Expo & Conference in Las Vegas.

Fashioning its booth into a mock canine hotel, Crypton is introducing the Velese velvet collection as well as showcasing stuffed dogs that students at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology have bedecked in various fabrics. Pups ranging in style from a bride to a pharaoh are to perch on Crypton-upholstered luggage carts and trunks. Bring your leash! April 29–May 1; 866-693-1007; hdexpo.com.
