Registration Begins for Red Dot Awards 

The 2008 program includes four new design award categories.

The registration period for the Red Dot Design Awards, one of the word's largest international design competitions, began on November 6.  It will end on January 18, 2008; all designers and manufacturers who register products by December 7 will benefit from an early bird discount.

The annual awards program recognizes outstanding industrially-manufactured products launched during the past two years. Winners are chosen by an international panels of designers and experts. An awards presentation will take place at the Red Dot Design Museum in Zollverein, Germany on June 23, 2008. The world's largest exhibitor of contemporary design, the museum will host winning products in a special exhibition, on view June 24-July 27. Upon conclusion, the exhibition may travel to the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore.

Four new categories have been added for the 2008 program, bringing the total to 16. The result of additions or the division of existing categories, they are Kitchen, Garden, Automobiles, Transport & Caravans, and Communication.

Last year, 7,000 entries from 60 countries were considered for the Red Dot. View last year's winners here.
