Architects weigh in on a hot topic next week, at New York’s Center for Architecture. How does their work compare to that of an artist? On Wednesday, July 6, from 6:30-8:30pm, the discussion takes place in conjunction with the exhibit "City Art: New York’s Percent for Art Program," on view at the Center through September 3.
Susan Chin, assistant commissioner, Department of Cultural Affairs for the Center for Architecture, Charlotte Cohen, director of the Percent for Art Program, Richard Dattner, principal of Dattner & Partners Architects and Gerald Vasisko, partner at Gruzen Samton Architects will participate in the panel.
"City Art: New York’s Percent for Art Program" features original photography, models, and architectural plans documenting New York’s Percent for Art program. Since 1983, the New York City government has commissioned and funded close to 200 public artworks through the Percent for Art program.
Admission to the panel is free. The Center for Architecture is located at 536 LaGuardia Place, New York, New York. For more information, visit www.nyc.gov/culture.
