Seat of Honor

Alert the media: Angela Adams is off the floor. Granted, this star rug designer already stepped beyond the loom with wooden furniture, but it took the Elite Leather Company to facilitate the natural expansion into fully upholstered seating. Her namesake collection's seven exclusive fabrics are all wovens, primarily rayon-polyester in what she terms a "rainy-day palette." Subtle three-tone Tweed comes in seven colorways. Kelly, a jacquard in six colorways, is reminiscent of rocky coast, cascading waterfalls, and moss-covered stones. Corice, a prismatic jacquard in six colorways, is as hip as they come. Another jacquard, Casco, blends pop and organic sensibilities in five colorways. With a mix-and-match approach, designers can specify any fabric for any seating design. Alder frames with mid-century influences are divided into six subsets, their titles borrowed from state parks. Popham's chaise longue has a taut silhouette. Otis's chair is a compact cube. And the alluring curves of Acadia are available in both chair and sofa form. 800-826-9971; eliteleather.com. circle 406
