Guangzhou R&F Properties Co. has tapped Chicago-based design firm Goettsch Partners for a $150 million, 1,000-foot-tall tower in Guangzhou, China.

The building will feature a 180-key Park Hyatt hotel, 430,000 square-feet of offices, 65,000 square feet of retail stores, 24 condominiums, 174 apartments, and a 700-space underground parking lot.

The 66-story structure, built on two acres, will be located in the Zhujiang development, an area touted as Guangzhou's new city center. The site is near the Pearl River, above a transit station, and neighbors the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, the city's opera house, and the Guangzhou Museum.

Completion is expected in 2010.
