Architecture Event Takes Hold of San Francisco

The event kicks off with a free opening night party.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Francisco Chapter will hold its third annual Architecture and the City, a celebration of the city’s built environment and design community, from September 1-30.

The city-wide event will include architectural tours, film screenings, exhibitions, and design lectures. On September 1, the event kicks off with a free opening night party, from 5:30-9:30pm at Zinc Details, 2410 California Street. RSVP via email at rsvp@aiasf.org or call 415-362-7397. The party includes a screening of homes showcased during the 2006 San Francisco Living: Home Tours weekend and a free product giveaway by Kartell.

Want to check out those legendary San Francisco homes? San Francisco Living: Home Tours Weekend will be held Sepember 16-17. Tours will span several neighborhoods and architectural styles including  state-of-the-art single-family homes in Russian Hill, Noe Valley, and the Panhandle; architect/developer multi-family homes in Potrero Hill and South of Market; and an affordable housing development in the Tenderloin. Tickets are $50 one day (per person); $90 two days (per person); $65 day-of tickets purchased after September 15 (per person); 25% discount for AIA San Francisco, San Francisco Design Center and A+D Forum members, students, and groups of six or more.
