Go West

edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 2/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

With a slew of events and resources—plus all that product—the two-day-long NeoCon West trade show at the L.A. Mart kicks off L.A. Designweek. The stellar lineup of keynote speakers at the show includes Office for Metropolitan Architecture founder Rem Koolhaas, Vanderbyl Design's Michael Vanderbyl, the namesake principal of Perkins + Will/Eva Maddox Branded Environments, and, for student day, the ever youthful Karim Rashid. Meanwhile, West Edge, a NeoCon West invitational exhibition sponsored by Interior Design, features installations by the likes of Gensler, IA Interior Architects, Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Griffin Enright Architects, and Hodgetts and Fung Design Associates—with each of the 600-square-foot projects in- tended representing a different kind of interior environment, whether retail, hospitality, or educational. March 27-30; 800-526-2784; lamart.com/neoconwest.

If that's not enough, go see the other attractions around the city: the Pacific Design Center's Westweek show and the IIDA's annual Calibre Awards at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
