N.Y.DesignWeek

Staff -- Interior Design, 9/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

October 30–November 3, 2001

N.Y.DesignWeek, an annual five-day celebration for New York's design community, features special events, seminars, exhibits, showroom opportunities, and—lest we forget—parties. From Oct. 30–Nov. 3, highlights include NeoCon New York, ASID's annual conference, and Student Day for design students and educators.

This year's NeoCon New York, the headline event of N.Y.DesignWeek, will feature the latest and most innovative products from the industry's top manufacturers of corporate, health care, and residential furnishings, lighting, carpeting, flooring, and fabrics. Expanded educational seminars, new hands-on product demonstration areas, the return of The Best of NeoCon Gallery, and over 200 commercial manufacturing exhibitors should be more than enough to occupy this year's attendees. Show hours are 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will be holding its national conference concurrent with NeoCon New York at the Jacob K. Javits Center and the Roosevelt Hotel (Madison Avenue at 45th St.). Visit www.merchandisemart.com to register for events, which include:

Strategic Consulting

In concert with this, ASID will discuss its latest Consulting Principles research, which shows how designers can provide better services to their clients by applying tried and proven consulting techniques used in numerous professions.
