Guessing correctly that stylish hipsters like their martinis designed, not shaken, Skyy Spirits unveiled it latest super-premium vodka with a celebration of “superior taste.” At Design with a Twist, a party held last week in New York, Skyy unveiled its new Skyy90 vodka. Drinks were poured from freestanding bars designed by local talent.
"SKYY90's dedication to supporting emerging designers makes the Design with a Twist program a natural fit for DIFFA," said David Sheppard, Executive Director of DIFFA. The two groups, who have already held events in Florida and California, plan to roll out more partied throughout the year.
Each designer started with the same basic bar, and turned it into a unique station. Participants included Scott Bromley, a senior partner at Bromley Caldari Architects; Laura Day, an interior designer and host of TLC’s "Trading Spaces"; Libby Langdon an interior designer and television personality; and event and floral designer Antony Todd.
The event benefited Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, a fundraising group for HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S. To date, DIFFA has granted more than $32 million to organizations nationwide.
