Shaw Contract Group Awards Interior Design Projects

Entry forms for next year's competition will be on Shaw's Web site this Fall.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 8/9/2007 12:00:00 AM

Carpet manufacturer Shaw Contract Group has singled out six commercial interior design organizations as winners of its second annual awards competition, Design Is... Projects are selected for innovative design solutions that positively impact both the people who inhabit the space and the natural environment that surrounds it.

Each firm earns an original award sculpture from Bruce Mau Design and a place in Shaw's upcoming advertising campaign, rolling out in leading publications. In addition, a $2,000 International Interior Design Association (IIDA) scholarship will be awarded to a student in the name of the firm. Visitors to Shaw's Web site during June and July selected the People's Choice Award.

Entry forms for next year's Design Is... awards program will be available online this Fall.

"Shaw Contract Group created the Design Is… Award competition to celebrate the people who are re-thinking the very idea of what design is, and working to achieve human and business goals using best practices in global design," says John Stephens, vice president of marketing for Shaw Contract Group.
