Greenbuild isn't the only green building conference: On April 7, chapters of the three biggest design and architecture organizations in the U.S will present Regeneration 2008 in Seattle.

A collaboration between the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Seattle, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Washington State Chapter, and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northern Pacific Chapter, Regeneration 2008 will be held at Seattle's Mountaineers Club. The day-long session will include hands-on workshops, presentations, and panel discussions focused on the latest sustainability issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more on topics such as Biomimicry, Adaptive Planning for Climate Change, and the newest sustainable materials on the market. Green building tours will be offered on April 8.

The lineup also includes five book signings--one by Interior Design's eco editor Penny Bonda; the competition What Makes It GREEN? Regional Top 10 Awards, honoring green projects; and a keynote address delivered by actor, author, reality TV show host, and environmental activist Ed Begley, Jr.

All-inclusive early-bird tickets are $175 for AIA/ASID/IIDA Members; $240 for non-members and; $90 for students. Tickets can be purchased for just the evening gala, including the keynote and a reception: AIA/ASID/IIDA members are $50; non-members are $75; and students are $25.

Register online.

The Mountaineers Club is located at 300 Third Avenue West. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. On April 8, green building tours will begin at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
