Berlin Is In

edited by Sheila Kim -- Interior Design, 8/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

Aficionados of contemporary art need not limit their pilgrimages to New York and London. Germany's capital has emerged as a nexus, too, thanks partly to Art Forum Berlin. Held at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds, this annual roundup of innovative, experimental works by established and emerging artists brings approximately 180 galleries from 25 countries together. With Gavin Brown's Enterprise of New York showing DVDs by Mark Leckey and Helsinki's Anhava presenting Sigurdur Gudmunsson's mixed-media sculptures, the fair is a veritable primer on international trends.
