Here's this week's roundup of who’s doing what, where in the design community.

Al KabusCommercial carpet manufacturer the Mohawk Group has two executive level changes. Al Kabus is the new president. He will head up the commercial strategic business unit, and oversee sales, marketing and customer operations for the company’s six brands of commercial carpeting: Karastan Contract, Durkan Commercial, Lees Carpets, Mohawk Commercial, Bigelow Commercial, and Durkan Hospitality.

Bill StoreyBill Storey moves up to senior vice president and general manager of Mohawk Industries’ Fashion Brands (Karastan, Ralph Lauren, Custom-
Weave, and Helios).

Architecture and design firm Perkins+Will has purchased Rozeboom Miller Architects, a Minneapolis-based architecture firm specializing in K-12 design, civic, and cultural buildings.
 
Jeffrey K. Liggett has joined full-service architecture, interior design, and engineering firm Cubellis as principal of interior design and architecture for the Chicago office. He will head up corporate interior design practice.
 
Architectural, engineering, and consulting firm HDR has entered into an alliance with Canadian architecture firm Mill & Ross Architects. The new firm will be called HDR | Mill & Ross Architects.

Oliver Bleich Kitchen and bath manufacturer Dornbracht Americas has created a new product management department, which will be head up by Oliver Bleich, brand communication and marketing manager. Alexander Wolf, joining the North American operations from the parent company in Germany, will report to Bleich. 

Lighting manufacturer Acuity Brands has acquired lighting manufacturer Mark Architectural Lighting.
 
Nicole Shillingford joins Villeroy & Boch USA as marketing manager.

Jacuzzi, a manufacturer and distributor of branded bath and plumbing products and a subsidiary of Jacuzzi Brands Corp., has granted an exclusive license to bedding products manufacturer Thurmo Medical Sleep Products to manufacture and market sleep systems under the Jacuzzi trademark.  

Georgia Foam Recycling and Flooring Supplies is now a full product-line distributor for commercial flooring manufacturer Flexco.

Lloyd Rosenberg
, CEO and founder of full-service architecture firm DMR Architects, has launched green design and consulting firm Green Economics.

Gail Shor joins Herman Miller dealer Tobron Office Furniture as project coordinator.

Florida-based real estate company Ram Realty Services has bought the Design Center of the Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina for $28.6 million from two limited liability companies, Camden Square Associates and CVS.

International auction house Christie's has two staff changes. Effective immediately, Tina Zonars has been promoted to international director, Chinese works of art for Christie's Chinese Works of Art Department. In January 2008, Joe-Hynn Yang will assume the position of senior vice president and the new head of Chinese works of art, Americas.
 
Architecture and design firm ADD Inc has a new principal and seven promotions. Jonathan W. Cardello, is principal and Michael Doiron, Liviu Marza, Filippo Soave, Carol Speredelozzi, Valya Trupos, Liz von Goeler, and Eric Weyant are associate principals.

Damian Besculides joins architecture and design firm ManciniDuffy as a senior associate and project manager. Previously, he was at Cannon Design.

Patrick Bowen
moves up to the position of interactive media designer at furniture manufacturer Izzydesign.

David Biagi has been appointed the acting dean of the UK College of Design. David Mohney, the former dean, recently stepped down after 13 years of service.

Heather Bush and Mary Holt were promoted to executive vice presidents-creative at textile manufacturer Carnegie.
