Results are in for Annual Western Regional Design Competition

The 2007 designer of the year is Wendy Owen of Sonoma, California.

Designer of the Year Wendy Owen (left) and Nita Wright, president of the IDS Wine Country Chapter.The Wine Country Chapter of the Interior Design Society (IDS) recently revealed the results of its 2007 Western Regional Design Competition, honoring outstanding residential interior design professionals who are IDS members living in the Western United States. The winners were unveiled at a special awards banquet, held at the White Oak Winery in Healdsburg, California. The 2007 designer of the year is Wendy Owen of Sonoma, California.

The annual awards program is open to all interior designers who are IDS members in good standing in the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Students of any recognized design program are also invited to apply.

A jury of industry professionals selected winners in categories including Best Living Room, Best Dining Room, Best Kitchen, Best Master Bedroom, Best Guest Bedroom, Best Youth Bedroom, Best Bathroom, Best Family Room, Best Living Room, Best Home Office, Best Outdoor Space, Best Wall Treatment, Best Fireplace, Best Accessory Vignette, Best Showroom Vignette and Designer of the Year.

Based in High Point, North Carolina, IDS is the largest national design organization exclusively dedicated to the residential interior design industry.
