Officially gearing up for its annual duo of design awards, the International Interior Design Association has begun accepting submissions for its annual Interior Design and Will Ching competitions.

The Interior Design Competition, now in its 37 year, was created to honor outstanding interior design while encouraging new ideas and techniques for interior spaces. Firms are honored in corporate, education/institutional, government, healthcare, hospitality, residential and retail showroom categories. There is also a Best of Competition award, snagged last year by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for its Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California.

Meanwhile, the 18th annual Will Ching Design Competition recognizes commercial projects by designers working in firms with five or less employees. New York's KOKO Architecture + Design took home last year's prize for their hometown Gallery More North.

The deadline to request entry kits for the competition is February 10, while completed entries are due by February 17. Winners will be announced at IIDA's COOL celebration at NeoCon, taking place in Chicago from June 14-16, and also be featured in the NeoCon issue of Interior Design.
