Finishing Touches

-- Interior Design, 3/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

STEELCASE TEXTILES , a new brand introduced by Steelcase Inc., was developed around two lines, Classics and Options. The collection features 12 color families inspired by the rich and complex hues found in the natural world. Textile and color consultants Kristie Strasen and Kimberle Frost of Strasen Frost Associates worked on the fabric launch with Susan Lyons, executive vice president of design for DesignTex and design leader for Steelcase Textiles. "The new fabrics offer colors and designs that we hope will inspire designers with the goal of creating beautiful and productive work environments," says Lyons. Classics features six new designs in more than 60 colors, while Options offers nine patterns in nearly 100 colors. Additionally, the collection includes panel fabrics woven from recycled materials.
