Showstopping performances We all know those unobtrusive lamps, intended to sit primly on a bedside table. Steven Wine and Michael Landon of And Bob's Your Uncle don't make anything like that. Wine draws on his experience as a glassblower and metalworker. Landon offers expertise from the fashion side. (His daring costume de- signs have appeared in Broadway's The Lion King.) Together, the duo has designed dazzling custom fixtures for architecture firm Tsao & McKown and interior designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz. For the Miami residence that Noriega-Ortiz designed for Lenny Kravitz, And Bob's Your Uncle created this chandelier with hand-linked acrylic rings. Versions of the sconce and pendant, in rooster feathers and rhinestones, grace a lingerie shop in Tennessee. As Wine confides, "The crazier we get, the more our clients like it." The top brass For a dramatic turn-on, consider Boyd Lighting Company's options by Doyle Crosby. The Rings pendant ups the glamour factor in acrylic and solid brass, shown in a finish of gossamer gold. Incandescent or fluorescent lamping is available. Embarcadero, a fluorescent ceiling fixture by Andrew Belschner and Joseph Vincent, oozes graphic appeal with a hand-slumped glass bowl framed in a square of solid brass. The design also comes as a wall fixture and pendants. Boyd Lighting Company

Encore! In 2001, light sculptor John Wigmore introduced his first line for Ralph Pucci International. This year, he adds 30 designs to the collection. Loft-ready showpieces include a giant cross and two equally oversize hanging lamps in Japanese paper, acrylic, and steel. Smaller-scale floor versions, striped sconces, and wall-mounted light boxes are likely to attract kudos from the loftless.Ralph Pucci International

The handblown glass table lamps come in three sensuous shapes and a series of seductive colors, including amber, amethyst, fumé, and aquamarine. Shade options—such as this one in draped silk—provide an elegant finish. At Casa Bella.
