Southern Hospitality
In addition to opening a New York boutique ("Tibi's Tepee," page 84), Tibi designer Amy Smilovic has been busy in Georgia. For the Cloister at Sea Island, a 1928 luxury hotel, Smilovic has designed a premier suite—from the eclectic furniture to the hand-painted curtains—as well as uniforms for the staff and a clothing collection for the resort's boutique. Interior photos and fashion sketches are posted online.
The Secret Garden
New York is ever building upward, so why not the city's shrubbery? Inside hair-care center Phyto Universe, the brand's creator, Patrick Alès, and architect Anne Gernez did just that with a vertical garden. It's composed of tropical plants from French Polynesia, the Amazon, and the Caribbean. On the Web, you can view the botanical walls as well as treatment and retail spaces.

D_raw Associates's second New York space for U.K. fashion retailer Reiss, an abstract urban oasis, features ivy hanging over the storefront and a landscape of 4,500 lacquered-steel poles inside. Brick walls are painted with a pattern that pays homage to the neighboring tattoo parlors of Greenwich Village. Learn more about the 5,000-square-foot project at interiordesign.net.
