State of the Union

Staff -- Interior Design, 3/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

Santa Monica's celebrated supper club Rix reopened in February as Union, a restaurant serving the contemporary American fare of chef James R. Grey. The chef was on-hand in addition to Union owner Jeff Peterson, designer Paul Jones of Project Dynamics, and a crowd of West Coast notables for an opening bash on February 4.

1. Blessed with great weather, the California revelers spilled out onto the patio of Union.

2. Those who decided to stay indoors crowded the downstairs dining room.

8. Gerard Austen, Nancy Kupka, managing partner Chuck Craig, Matt Jackson, and Travis Macial.
