100% Design Slated for China

Events include Meet the Stars, an opportunity to meet and question celebrity architects and designers.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 3/27/2007 12:00:00 AM

This Spring, 100% Design takes on China. 100% Design Shanghai, offshoot of the established London and Tokyo fairs displaying the latest in contemporary furniture designs, soft launches June 14-16.

Drawing architects, specifiers, interior designers, and retailers, 100 % Design showcases furniture, lighting, accessories, wall and floor coverings, textiles, and products for the kitchen and bath. Several events will be offered. Among them is the networking opportunity Meet the Stars, which will have celebrity designers and architects on hand to discuss their work. At the IPR Metaphor session, a discussion will focus on the latest market information on intellectual property rights and how they can be protected.

Why Shanghai? Visitors, say show organizers, will draw inspiration from stunning architecture, innovative design, and a vibrant, modern city experiencing an economic boom. Since 1997, incomes have almost doubled.

The show will be held in conjunction with home furniture show International Home Décor and Design 2007, also in Shanghai June 14-16. Both shows are organized by Reed Exhibitions.
