Upholstered products with the option include the Bottoni collection by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders.

Starting in August, furnishings retailer Design Within Reach (DWR) will offer new designs and licensed classics by textile manufacturer Maharam on exclusive upholstered products.

The collaboration, in association with the Maharam Design Studio, includes a group of Maharam textiles which can be specified on a four to six week lead time.

Upholstered pieces with the option include the Bottoni collection by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the Theatre collection by Ted Boerner, and the Flight Recliner by Jeffrey Bernett. Items are available for sale to both residential and commercial customers nationwide online, via DWR online, the DWR catalog, studios, and a direct sales force.

"The partnership with Maharam is a natural fit for Design Within Reach. We share many values including commitment to authorship, design heritage, innovation and technology," says Karen John, vice president of design and merchandising for DWR.

Maharam is a fourth generation family-run company which made its start in the 1960's with theatrical textiles.

DWR also has partnerships with manufacturers including Herman Miller, Cassina, Knoll, Stua, Kartell, Flos, Fritz Hansen, and Emeco, among others.
