Kitchen product manufacturers Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliance have announced the recipients of their international Kitchen Design Contest. Eleven kitchens were selected by a prestigious panel of industry professionals to received top honors, earning more than $110,000 in cash prizes.

Launched in 1993, the biannual competition is a nod to innovative use of space, design excellence, and integration of Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Entries reflected current market trends -- including smaller, high-quality kitchens; diverse materials and textures; repurposing of vintage or used items; and sustainable design.

The seven-member jury consisted of Jamie Drake of Drake Design Associates, New York; Mick De Giulio of de Giulio Kitchen Design, Chicago; Barbara Houston of Houston & Associates, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Matthew Quinn of Design Galleria, Atlanta, Georgia; John C. Senhauser of John Senhauser Architects, Cincinnati: Kristen Totah, of Studio K Kitchens and Design, Aptos, California; and Patti Weaver of Creative Design Solutions, Niwot, Colorado.

This year marks the debut of the Designers’ Choice Award -- the winner was selected from the 48 regional winners by trade professionals.

Contest regional and specialty winners received a cash prize and a trip for two to the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona, where the awards reception was held.
