Chicago Museum Hosts High-End Auction
Tobias Meyer, deputy chairman of Sotheby’s Europe and worldwide head of Contemporary Art, will auctioneer the event.

On October 28, the Benefit Art Auction will return to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago , where more than 125 works from renowned contemporary artists will be on the block. Among the pieces that bidders will heckle over are works by Matthew Barney, Richard Tuttle, Diane Arbus, and Claes Oldenburg, among others. Artists recently exhibited at the MCA, including Andy Warhol, Catherine Opie, and Jim Isermann, will also be part of the auction. Actor Matthew Modine and his wife, Caridad Rivera, will act as honorary chairs for the evening.
The event, which will be auctioneered by Tobias Meyer, deputy chairman of Sotheby’s Europe and worldwide head of Contemporary Art, will be held at the MCA Warehouse, located at 1747 West Hubbard Street. The event begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction; the live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m., after which guests will enjoy dinner by Wolfgang Puck Catering, music, and dancing.
