Two great tastes…

that taste great together. New York-based Maharam has joined forces with Danish-based Kvadrat in an exclusive, international partnership designed to create a contract textile force with global reach. Under this arrangement, Maharam will represent Kvadrat in the United States, Kvadrat will represent Maharam in Europe, and both companies will work together in markets beyond. The partnership will be launched at NeoCon as a platform in the United States. Kvadrat products will be represented at the Maharam showroom at suite 1188 of the Merchandise Mart.

Both companies are family-owned businesses under the leadership of a new generation of management and share a simple yet similar philosophy—to create innovative products.

Michael Maharam, company principal, explains: "As design takes on a global definition through dynamic communication and distribution, this partnership provides Maharam and Kvadrat clients with extraordinary universal choice. We feel fortunate to have found in Kvadrat a company with a kindred corporate and aesthetic sensibility." Anders Byriel, Kvadrat's managing director, continues: "The basis of this strategic alliance is a shared commitment to corporate culture and the value of design. Not only do the Maharam and Kvadrat collections complement each other, but our combined resources will permit development of imaginative new products." The initial Kvadrat collection launched by Maharam highlights thirteen patterns. Maharam, 251 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10010. www.maharam.com.
