Dennis J. Insogna, president and CEO of office furniture dealer WorkPlace Furnishings (WPF), died December 2 at the age of 56 after a heart attack. He was named president of WPF in 2006.
Guy Chaddock, the retired president of furniture manufacturer Guy Chaddock & Co died November 25 at the age of 83. He started restoring antiques in Los Angeles in the 1950's before turning to one-of-a kind pieces.
The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) has six new organizations on its council: The Oklahoma Board of Architects, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers; the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Board of Examiners of Interior Designers-Decorators; Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba; the Interior Designers of Alberta; the Association of Interior Designers of Nova Scotia; and the Association of Registered Interior Designers of New Brunswick. NCIDQ now has 27 member boards from the U.S. and Canada.
Furniture manufacturer Inscape has three new hires. John Whichard is regional vice president for the western U.S.; Adam Kurtenbach is vice president technical sales, western region, for architectural interior; and Sharad Mathur is director of marketing and product management.
Furniture manufacturer Allsteel has four new corporate account managers: Angie Gaeta;Krysty Kling; Meg Smith; and Thomas Voldrich.
Architecture, design, and planning firm Gensler has hired public relations firm Clifford Public Relations to represent its Southwest Region, including five offices in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Mike O'Neill is senior director, workplace research for office furniture manufacturer Knoll.
John Michael Currie, based in Seattle, joins the Washington office of architecture, interior design, engineering, and planning firm EwingCole as part of the expansion of the firm’s healthcare practice.
Lorraine Nielsen is showroom manager in Chicago for furniture manufacturer Niermann Weeks.
Steven Didrick joins the Beverly Hills-based office of interior design firm Cheryl Rowley Design (CRD) as a senior designer. Didrick's project list will include restaurants, hotels, and residences.
Lawrence Katz is onboard Herman Miller dealer Tobron Office Furniture as an account executive.
Mary Neal King is market manager for the central and southern Virginia territory for contract textile company Architex.
