In the Hot Seat

edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 2/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

Apology time! The 2005 Future Furniture contest coverage in our October issue omitted Barrett Studios, which won for a series of cleverly punning benches named We've. Inspired by the way that windblown reeds weave together, protruding from the ice and snow on a frozen lake, the winter-white perforated-steel pieces also weave together, thanks to the intertwining of the removable polypropylene rods.

What's next? Lots, from the look of things. Having designed Gunlocke's award-winning Sojourn lounge system, shown at NeoCon in 2004, the firm could strike gold again this year. 847-722-0440; barrettstudios.com.
