Company Man

Herman Miller hosted a gathering to introduce the design community to John Newland, the company's new vice president of architecture and design. The event took place at the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, New York. A raffle for two Noguchi tables capped the evening.

  1. Herman Miller's architecture and design liaison Hilda Longinotti with the evening's honoree, John Newland, as he selected raffle winners.

  2. Fox & Fowle Architects's principal Guy Geier, Mancini Duffy's president Dina Frank, and Jones Lang LaSalle's vice president Tom Cavanagh. The Noguchi Museum, where the event took place.

  3. Peter Conant, principal of Conant Architects; Hall of Famer Lou Switzer, CEO of The Switzer Group; Jane Smith, managing principal of Harris Smith Design; and Enoka Strait, sales representative for Herman Miller.

Texas Talk

As part of Design Italia week in Houston, Texas, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce along with furniture representative Federlegno-Arredo hosted a lecture by Italian architect and industrial designer Piero Lissoni. His presentation, titled "The Art of Proportions through Architecture and Furniture Design," took place at the University of St. Thomas. A party followed at Kuhl-Linscomb's showroom.
