For the past two years, the International Fashion Festival in Japan has mounted a cutting-edge survey of fashion photography. Although previously the show traveled only within Japan, this year—thanks to the web—fashion devotees from around the world will be able to peruse excerpts from the exhibition. Internet art dealer Onview.com presents Fashion Forward: Recent Fashion Photography, featuring avant-garde imagery by artists both established (David La Chapelle, Peter Lindbergh) and emerging (Helena Christensen). According to Marla Kennedy Hamburg, vice president of photography for Onview and co-organizer of the show, the exhibition celebrates "the seduction, the innovation, the grittiness and the raw energy" of the genre. Check out "virtual exhibitions" at onview.com through April 27th; the show will be available in the site's archives thereafter.
